So ask yourself, what do the shootings at Fort Hood, the healthcare bill, the war in afghanistan, the elections of 2009, and all the rest of the madness that is swirling around us....what do all of these things have in common...and what do they have to do with the idea of national service?
the answer? the common thread through all of this is the idea of a separation between those who feel a responsibility to others and those that do not. that gap is widening with each generation. We are all growing farther apart with each year. Those that serve. And those that do not.
So, ask yourself...on which side of the fence do you stand?
